Where are they and why are they there?Taylors Wines are located within the Clare Valley approximately 100km north of Adelaide (1.5hr drive) covering approximately 1100ha. The area boasts a a 'Mediterranean' climate as seen through its diurnal temperature. Through its unique climate Taylor Wines has an expanse of fertile land with the presence of numerous micro climates that have enabled the growth of specific grape varieties such as the Riesling grape that prefers more sunlight than the Shiraz, therefore they are being grown on an east-facing hill to maximise sunlight.
At a local level, Taylors Wines are favourably locate within a valley bringing different levels of sunlight and temperatures that can go up to 40 degrees Celsius during the day and as ow as 5 degrees Celsius during the night. Additionally this presence in a valley has enabled a altitude range of 530m that allows a range of terroir conditions. |
